Claude Debussy

I was very happy to find one my old albums in a box I had not open since I moved in to my new place. The album: The Best of Claude Debussy The sound: Classical Impressionist music. My thoughts: Couldn't have landed on my hands at a better time.

History: Debussy was a French composer, his music was described as late Romantic music to twentieth century modernist music. My opinion: His music always tells a story most of the time a very sad one. He reminds me of William Shakespeare but the composer version. Some of his songs remind me of Romeo and Juliet, a great love story with a tragic end. My Favorite: Quartet for Strings in G, listen to and you'll know what I mean.

Kill Hannah

Yesterday was my birthday but today was the highlight of the weekend celebration. I finally saw Kill Hannah after waiting so long for them to come back to hot ass South Florida. They were incredible live, their talent combine and atmospheric sound was just breath taking. I can't think of a better way to end the weekend!

Top Ten Reasons Advertising is Like Porn

A friend sent me this from AdRant, Top Ten Reasons Advertising is Like Porn. Got to love it!

- You shouldn't stay in the same position for too long.
- If it's good, it transcends language.
- Working in the industry will affect your family life at some point.
- It creates careers for art-school dropouts.
- The same concepts are endlessly recycled.
- You fast-forward through the boring stuff.
- The Internet took it to a whole new level.
- It's hard to transition out of.
- They both have weird self-congratulatory award shows.
- Only the people who create it are delusional enough to call it art.

Shorpy

While browsing for vintage photos I ran into Shorpy, a neat blog dedicated to restored photos from the first half of the 20th century. I'm a big fan of early black & white photography and this blog displays some great examples of early techniques and plain snapshots by unknown artists.

Calvin Harris

Calvin Harris was definitely my favorite artist from this year's WMC. Not only is he a Scottish gentlemen (that also goes for Mark his amazing base player) but a great electronica, pop, new wave, disco, dance mix musician. Check out Calvin Harris. If you love "Acceptable in the 80s" check out the mini video to get a taste of the show.

Miami 2008 Winter Music Conference

I'm never going to forget March of 2008, it was a month mental and physical recovery. The highlight of March was Winter Music Conference. The most incredible music artists from all over the world gather in Miami for a week of insane parties and adventures. I was lucky to have met and danced to some of my favorite artist, the list includes Digitalism all the way from Germany, Calvin Harris the Scottish dancing machine, Steve Aoki Kid Millionaire, Le Castle Vania the most fabulous upcoming DJ of our time, and many more.

Next year make sure not to miss WMC you will have the time of your life and meet all kinds of people, including Troy or Moby (who is the nicest guy in the world). If never want to stop dancing check out the links of artists.

Christian Siriano Wins Project Runway Season 4

Little and fierce! Christian Siriano age 22, of Annapolis, Md. won the Bravo TV hit show Project Runway, beating Rami Kashou and Jillian Lewis. His collection included piles of ruffles, sculptured jackets, and a feathered dress. It's incredible what this kid can do, at such a young age his vision for couture fashion is unbelievable. Christian was my favorite next to last years winner Jeffrey Sebelia who's Japanese ghost stories collection took the runway by storm.
